slightly heavy spotting after attempting to get pregnant? is this possible

i'm am due to start my period in around 5 or so days. i tried to get pregnant and am not sure when i ovulate. i have had random headaches, my breasts are sore, and i'm a bloated. should i wait to take an HPT or am i just not pregnant? can someone please help me? Confused
