Hi, I have a hair problem that is really bothering me. It seems that my hair is growing at a very slow pace. Actually, I am sure that my hair is growing more slowly than it should be, because I compare it to my friend whose hair grows much faster than mine. Could you tell me what are the causes for slow hair growth? Is there something I can do to speed up my hair's growth?

Hi, first of all I have to say that you shouldn't compare your hair's growth with your friend's because hair doesn't grow at the same speed in all people. But, if you have also noticed that your hair grows more slowly than it did before than you probably do have a problem. And I know how frustrating it can be, especially if your desire is to have long beautiful hair. While I was on the quest to grow long hair I was very frustrated with the speed my hair was growing. It turned out that the more frustrated I got, the slower my hair grew. So stress is one of the factors for slow hair growth you should avoid. I have also tried various hair growth products and I saw very little results. Ultimately my mother gave me an advice that I now follow religiously. She said that all the products I use are probably helping up to a point, but if I really want to have great hair I have to pay attention to my diet. You see your hair needs vitamins and minerals to grow that it can only get from the bloodstream. So if you want to speed up your hair growth you should limit the intake of fat and salts. Also oral vitamins and minerals supplements are a good choice. Selenium, zinc and magnesium are some of the minerals that your hair needs and also amino acids and B vitamins are great for hair growth. You will see the results in a few months period if you introduce these changes in your diet.
