Hi, I am 27 years old and I am smoking for 10 last years. I didn't feel any problems till now, but lately I start coughing when I run or play football. Coughing is followed by mucus and it lasts up to 20 minutes sometimes. I would like to know is it connected with smoking or it is just some cold?
Hi, you may be sure that coughing is caused by smoking and you are probably suffering from smoking bronchitis. I use to smoke till last year when my doctor told me that my lungs are pretty damaged and I have chronic bronchitis. Cigarette smoke irritates my airwaves tubes which produce mucus which is filling my lungs and it makes me to cough. You would quit smoking if you want to get rid of coughing.
