You shouldn't be smoking anything after the surgery, not cigarettes, not a joint. Smoke clogges the blood vessels and prevents healing i.e. slows down the healing process.

I am getting surgery on a tendon in my ankle in 4 days... would it be bad if I smoked up 2 days before the surgery? I've heard many different opinions on this.

You may be lucky and be fine, but common sense must tell you that smoking after surgery on your ears, nose and throat areas is asking for infection and pain. It's SO not worth it.

Smoking before surgery on yoru ankle should be fine in that respect. Of course, let's not ignore that ANY smoking isn't going to be doing you any favours.

OK, basically you all are saying that smoking MARIJUANA is a pain relief and has no effects..... Idea yes it does over a certain amount of time some one can get addicted then what you sure can't take it from them be cuase of the FACT that you all let them smoke then they can't avoid nor controll their hormones to that drug ..... also if it is so goodthen why is it ilegal Question no one has do research on it to kno that when individuals add their ingrediant to it, ot has an effect . what u all are saying is that basically it is ok to smoke with a doctor but not ok to smoke at home .... that the same as a person who has an obessity promblem to give them crack for a 3 weeks think about it

this dude is an idiot. weed is illegal because no country would get anywhere being stoned all the time. it effects your short term memory, as well as sinus and respirotory system. you COULD give crack to a fat person to help them lose weight, but they would have different problems during and afterwards, due to the drug. coke is a horrible drug with horrible consiquences, but there are people who do it excessively everyday and are seen to "handle" it better than others. weed can be addictive because of the effect that thc has on the mind and body. but, like being addicted to fast food or most other things, you have to be strong enough to get over the habit, i.e. the reason meth is so dangerous. i rest my case and ask this dumbass not to ever post stuff before intelligently thinking it over. dont be mad at us "stoners" just because no one likes you. Idea oh and go back to grammar school.

Johnnybegood you're all idiots and don't know a single thing about Marijuana. As for research to it, there are ENDLESS research articles.
Marijuana is also not physically addicting like crack and does not
affect or mess up your hormones in any way shape or form.

Also, smoking Marijuana does NOT clog any blood vessels.
It in fact dilates blood vessels and the bronchi of the lungs.

If you want to heal faster you can use the essential oil of cannabis
buds to speed up the healing process by about 20x.

Get your facts straight and go f*** yourselves.
