I take Zoloft for depression also I decided to go out with friends and drink. I was fine one minute, then I blacked out and did not know i was falling until I hit the floor. That was a very scary feeling and now I am scared to drink at all. I would not recommend drinking while taking Zoloft it is unsafe! Do not drive while drinking because if i would have been driving that night who knows what could hav e happened I could have killed myself or someone else. Please take my advice.I know first hand.[/b]

Twice while on Zoloft I decided to have a couple drinks. The occasions were two years apart but I blacked out both times. I wasn't even drinking heavy. Maybe two drinks and I couldn't remember anything.

I've heard that is a major no no. Can put you into a coma.

I wouldn't recommend social drinking while taking Zoloft. I've been taking Zoloft for about 8 months. I've only drank about 3 times since I started taking it, but each time was a total disaster. The Zoloft seemed to increase the effects of the alcohol drastically, and I ended up vomiting A LOT and had terrible hangovers and difficulty remembering what had happened. I'm a pretty controlled person and not much of a drinker in general, so this was kind of scary for me. I am definitely not going to drink while on antidepressants anymore. The warning is on the prescription bottle for a reason!
