Folic Acid

Recommended daily intake:
400 micrograms

What should you pay attention to while consuming folic acid?

Pregnant women and women that want to have children should consume 400 micrograms of Folic Acid daily. Those who want to prevent arteriosclerosis, heart and circulation disease, should firstly determinate the level of homocysteine with his/ hers doctor.

When the level is higher than normal, the combined preparation (with Folic Acid, vitamin B 6, vitamin B 12) is recommended, since all three B vitamins participate in retrogression of homocysteine.
