Hi. Is soy formula safe for infants? My baby doesn`t tolerate cow`s milk. Besides, I`ve heard soy formula is healthier for babies than formula based on cow`s milk. I know breast milk is the best, but I wanna have a safe alternative. Is it safe for my baby?
Hi. I`ve read soy formula can cause vitamin deficiencies. Soy increases requirements for vitamin B12 and I`ve heard soy may block the uptake of fats. soy formula gives your baby large amounts of estrogen-like compounds. Breastfeeding is the very best for your baby. However, if you want a safe alternative, soy formula is what you need. This is good news for you, because your baby doesn`t tolerate cow`s milk. My baby is 12 months old and she is already eating solids. I have used soy formula when she was an infant.
