spinal cauda equina syndrome

Hi.
I've just discovered cauda equina syndrome in this forum. Looking it up I've discovered I have "similiar" problems after neck (c-5 c-6) surgery.
Cauda equina syndrome seems to be of the lower spine. Has anyone ever heard of this for cervical spine? Is there anything similiar to this for the neck instead of the back?
I've been to 5 or 6 doctors, physical therapy, every test imaginable and still cannot find a solution to the debilitating pain I have been in since having C-5 C-6 disc replacement & Fusion.
Anyone ever find a solution or an answer to why alot of us are in so much pain after this type of surgery?
I'd be grateful for any personal experiences at this point...I've givin up hope at ever recovering.
PSSSS..it's been 18 months since surgery.
