It is very horrible to be in bed all the time, like my friend. I visited her yesterday. She is almost paralyzed. She had spinal fracture caused by osteoporosis. I really don't know is it true, she told me that she had not had any symptoms before. I am almost her age and wonder can I "get" the same thing.

Spinal fractures can occur in several occasions. Real causes can be same types of tumors and cancers and osteoporosis as well. This conditions you might have and don't know because they don't give obvious symptoms. Since, you and your friend are not blood relatives it is not likely for you to have the same disease. But if any back pain occurs see a doctor.
