spotting 7 to 10 days before period starts

help! i'm 30 and am trying to get pregnant by self insemination. i have purchased ovulation kits, used temp, and have been unsuccessful for the last 6 months! i always spot 7 to 10 days before starting my period which is heavy for 2 to 3 days. could there be something wrong with me? does anyone know the best way to self inseminate?

Hi there

you never mentioned anything such as being off birth control recently or having a miscarraige or anything like that? All of those have a major influence on receiving spotting like that. I usually spot 1-2 days before my period comes, and it's always pink. So it depends on the person. Mid cycle spotting is normal. But if it is very heavy and not scanty than maybe you should go see a doctor just so he can tell you if you having something going on that isn't normal.
