spotting a day after having sex

I had sex 8 days after the last day of my period yesterday (10/04/2006) around 1-2am and noticed that I was spotting about 14-15 hours later... I used the bathroom more then once after I had sex and a few times during the day and I wasn't spotting then but started spotting a half a day later....the next day I woke up and went to the bathroom and had some clear very stretchy mucus with a bit of blood in it but after that everything was normal. this is the first time that this has ever happened... does anyone know or have a clue on what caused this? the 4th was suppose to be my very fertile day but I know things don't happen that fast

oh and I had sex while I was on my period maybe 10 days before the 4th, could that be the reason why i was spotting?
