Hello, a couple of my friends have started to play squash. I always thought squash to be a fancy sport for young rich people and it always looked a bit silly to me. Hitting the ball against the wall is not my idea of fun. But my friends say that I am completely wrong and that squash is a great and fun way to stay in shape. Can you tell me the truth about squash? Is it really as great as my friends say?

Hi, squash may look funny from the outside, but when you step to the court you can see that there is nothing funny about squash. This is very demanding sport that requires serious preparation. If you have never seriously worked out you won't last five minutes on the court. If you want to start playing squash you will have to get in shape first. Running or cycling are great choices. The squash match strains the muscles so you have to stretch them properly to avoid injuries. And working out in the gym will strengthen your muscles so you can hit the squash ball properly. Let's not forget the concentration needed to win the match. You can see that squash is a very serious sport and that only the fittest can play it. But if you manage to get on the court you will see that squash can be a lot of fun as well.
