Please tell me what the symptoms might include for a detached stapendectomy prothesis. My mother had the opeartion 30 years ago and four weeks ago started having severe pain behind the ear that received the operation; along the bone behind the ear. After consulting a doctor they are clueless and my mother thinks that the prothesis has detached.
