Hi, I just started taking birth control about 2 weeks ago (August 27) and my period still hasn't ceased. I'm not even sure if this is still considered my period or if it's breakthrough bleeding. It's very light. If it is breakthrough bleeding, how long will this last? Should I be worried about the bleeding if it is not breakthrough bleeding? Will this bleeding stop as I continually take my pills? I haven't missed any pills and I've been taking them everyday at the same time.

I know these are a lot of questions but the bleeding is just annoying and if there's any way for it to stop I'd like to know. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi there. Sorry to hear that ol' aunt flo is still kicking around, but don't worry, once your body adjusts to the hormones in the birth control pills, she will pack her bags and leave.
If, though, she isn't gone once you are through the first month,I would go in for a check up with your doctor, just to be on the safe side.
Good luck!
