| I have just started the pill again after a few months break ( am on day 15), and am slightly worried as my discharges are brownish colored, as though mixed with blood. at first i though it was just my period lasting a little longer than it should, but it seems to me that even that should have stopped by now, no? should i consult a doctor or is this standard for people whi get back on th epill? |

| This is totally normal to happen. You know that the vaginal bleeding or the brownish discharge occurs while taking the pill. This is the very common side effect during the first months of using BCP. But also, this brown discharge could be some old blood that hadn’t come out of the uterus while menstruating, this usually happens a week or so after the period is over. This happens to me occasionally, I am not on a birthcontrol but I am experiencing this brown discharge a few days after my period stops. Now I am used to it, I was also worried the first time I had experienced it, I ran to the doc but he explained me it’s just the old blood that still needed to get out of the uterus. I was relieved and so should you, this is totally natural! |
