Nausea and vomiting can be caused by many things. Even a tiny amount of food that has gone bad can be the cause. Too much rich food or alcohol can cause nausea and vomiting. Also infections like stomach viruses or flu can cause repeated episodes of nausea and vomiting. Medications like chemotherapy meds, antibiotics, narcotic pain relievers, antidepressants, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, stress and anxiety are often a reason for nausea, elevated hormone levels during pregnancy or during periods, migraine headaches. In case your vomit is bloody, too frequent during the day, if signs of dehydration develop like increased thirst, sunken eyes, crying without tears, loss of skin elasticity, infrequent urination, dark yellow urine, or dryness in the mouth you should call a doctor.
