Keep your confidence. No, reducing the frequency of your masturbation will not improve your performance. I imagine that you will both be virgins so she won’t know too much anyway. If you want to impress her learn some foreplay tactics to make your first experience last longer, i.e. don’t just go strait to the humping, switch it up a bit and show her you know what your doing.
