Hi everyone,
Im wondering if anyone has experienced and discovered the cause of the following symptoms im having. Over the past 6 weeks or so, I have been getting strange feelings in the left side of my chest, shoulder and the centre of my back, along the spine area. I also feel as if something is stuck in my throat and I cant quite seem to swallow it. Also, this tends to occur daily, but only when I am in a sitting or lying position. Also, I seem to feel my some heart flutters and also can feel my heart beating quite hard, especially at rest in bed. I went to my doctor and had an ECG performed and it came back normal. I dont know what is going on. Im not in massive pain or anything, but as i said, these feelings happen daily and have been occuring for the last 6 weeks or so.

Hey,
I realize you posted a while ago but maybe you'll come back to check. I have the exact same problem. It's not a massive pain but it gets annoying and then fades away. I haven't been to a dokter yet, but I'm going asap. I think it might have something to do with the extensive use of computer, but futhermore I have no clue as to where it is comming from. Has your condition improved at all. Hope so!

Strangely enough I had very similar symptoms recently that escalated so that I thought maybe I was having a heart attack, (I had pain from that ares of my back through tot he left arm--symptoms of heart attack for women) so I went to the emergency room.
After all manner of tests to rule out blockages in the arteries and heart problems, that all came back normal, my doctor is treating me for pleurisy--which is an inflammation of the membranes that surround the lungs and line the chest cavity.
Pleurisy can be caused by a bacterial, or a viral infection, and at the extreme serious end, is also a symptom of pneumonia tuberculosis, and cancer.
The inflammation can be treated with prednisone, a corticosteroid and antibiotics if the bacterial infection is known. If it has viral origins, you just have to wait it out, using the anti-inflammatory medicines to help with the pain and discomfort.
Because of the connections with the more serious illnesses, definitely see a doctor for diagnosis.
