I have a problems and my doctor was thinking I should take Strattera. He said this medicine should help, so I bought it. Anyway, I am a little bit worried because I have heard this medicine has some side effects. My friend told me about headache, dry mouth, urinary hesitance, constipation, and early awakening, what she experienced. I would like if there is anyone who can share strattera experiences with me, should I have this drug or not.

I took Strattera for a week- started on 40mg 3 days in a row then 80mg after that. I only got to take the first 80mg pill becasue I developed a sore throat and flu-like symptoms you wouldn't believe! Ithought I was dying. So weak and tired. My doc said it might really be the flu. So when I stopped taking the med, the symptoms stopped and He said lets just try 40mg , well the 4th dose I had the same sore throat and flu-like symptoms and I noticed that was a rare side effect that no one was telling me about. It was horribe. Also thru my research I noticed that this drug has law suits against it because it can cause liver failure. I would never take it ever again.

Hi, I have a pretty heavy case of ADD, I am a 23 year old male. Ive had the problem my whole life and struggled through it. In my final year of college, I decided that I cant waste 2 days reading 1 chapter anymore, the workload is just too high.

So, I asked my doctor if there was anything to try. (BTW I took Ritalin as a child). He gave me some samples of Strattera.

All I can say is the difference is night and day. I can actually read a chapter in an hour our two, (btw I am an accounting major, so envision exciting books about tax and audit). I am more productive at work, and I am less of an impatient asshole to people.

Side Effects: A little hesitant when urinating, and a little decreased libido. But so what. My only concern is this liver damage thing, does anyone know how common this is? What to look out for?

Side note, I am only taking 25 mg and the change is amazing.

I am taking Strattera for ADD and absolutely love it. The only real side effect I've seen while taking it regularly is that it can cause stomach discomfort at the time I take it if I take it on an empty stomach. Any other side effects haven't been noticeable enough for me to distinguish them from other possible causes.

What I do notice is if I suddenly stop taking it, I get a lot of side effects (mood swings and increased appetite mostly). That's why this medicine is supposed to be titrated instead of quit cold turkey.

I'm 22 and just recently diagnosed with ADHD. I've been taking Stratterra for four days now with very minimal side effects. I feel a bit drowsy a few hours after taking it, but the feeling is quick to go away. I was prescribed 40mg and will be changing it to 80mg in 16 days (I assume).

When reading up on Stratterra initially, I noticed it had some similar side effects to Zyban which I took to stop smoking. The side effects for Zyban were intense, but went away after 14 days. I was expecting the same thing with Stratterra but so far not nearly as bad. I'm looking forward to see if there are noticeable changes in the next few weeks.
