| Ive been doing opiates, mainly oxycontin/oxycodone, for the last 3 years on and off. This last year was the worst, it seems that before last year i never really crossed the line in the sense of my brain chemistry being altered. Now i am completely and utterly hooked on opioids. The withdrawal is horrible and depressing. Suboxone has been helping me significantly, Im able to go back to college and finish, and i can even hold a job now. Suboxone is a good long term detox drug if your ready to quit. I say this because it doesn't create an euphoric sensation it merely stops withdrawal by acting on two of the opiate receptors that inhibit withdrawal and not on the third one that induces euphoria. Remember, it is most effective if you make a commitment to quit. |
