| I just took one tonight and drank a beer with it. Let me just say, as someone not addicted to opiates, it started out first making me light headed, then it gave me the jitters, then a really really bad stomach ache. I threw up at least 20 times over the course of four hours, and it was probably the worst - by far - experience I've had in my entire life. |

| I am down to 1 sub a day and I drink a lot on the weekends and once in a while on weekdays and I don't seem to have any problems with it. When I was taking 2 subs a day, I would get sick to my stomach after about 4 beers and that would make me just stop drinking. Now that I am down to one sub, I seem to be able to drink as much as I want without getting that sick to my stomach feeling. |

I have drank on suboxone frequently in the past, but more recently have avoided this practice because I would wake up with horrible hangovers, and that's from just two or three drinks!.
When I first started taking it about 2 years ago, I did not have this problem, but I was also only taking 2 mgs daily.
My doc has since increased me because I wanted to take the medication in the morning and then again at night.
Now I am taking 4-8 mg daily, and I cannot drink while on them without the horrible hangover.
If I know I will be drinking later, I will either only take one in the morning, or take my 2 doses as usual (one right before I go out) and stick to 2 drinks or less. This has helped alot!
But my hangovers were worse than hangovers. I would actually be sick the next day with a fever. I am assuming this is caused by double damage to the liver, but really have no idea. I am hoping that is not the case but who knows.
My Question to everyone is, what are the long term consequences of this medication, without the alcohol, on your liver? Are we all going to be getting serosis within the next few years? |
