Can anybody tell me what could be the cause of sweating in my sleep? I have this problem ever since my labor and this sweating in my sleep condition lasts more than 3 months now and I really have hard time with this –it basically wakes me up and it happens I change my sleeping shirt sometimes even 3 times per night-that is how bad my sweating in sleep is. Could this sweating in sleep condition be related with my labor for I am positive I have this sweating problem ever since I got the baby? Thanks!

You are more likely to have the condition that is called postpartum thyroiditis –it is rare though it is common in small number of woman after giving birth and is actually thyroid inflammation about whose one of the symptoms usually is sweating in sleep though the exact cause of this condition is unknown. I had the same problem with sweating in my sleep and that lasted for up to 1 year after my labor and I was finally diagnosed with postpartum thyroiditis and I was treated for the first 2 months with beta-blockers that are affective in reducing those symptoms of overactive thyroid. But than you have the second phase of postpartum thyroid that is manifested in under active thyroid condition known as hypothyroidism and this condition could also lasts up to 4 months and the usual treatment prescribed is thyroid replacement hormone-that is in fact how I finally have reduced sweating in my sleep.
