How soon after a hemorrhoidectomy requiring a single long stitch is it OK to go swimming?

I don’t know about swimming but my doctor told me not to exercise like 10 days after hemorrhoidectomy. I found that funny when I continued to have pain in my butt for another two weeks. Although I exercise regularly (pilates and jogging), I couldn’t think about any of these for three weeks. It was awful after the surgery! I couldn’t even think about doing exercise and not actually do it.

However, now it is completely different story and I would have a surgery all over again just to get rid of those nasty hemorrhoids since I had so many troubles with them.
You can call me a pain intolerant person, because I am.

I hope you don’t have as much troubles as I did. Good luck with your recovery.
