HI. I had protected vaginal sex with a prostitute and I therefore tested myself for HIV 17 weeks afterwards and it came negative. Not so long age, after having sex with my girlfriend who is HIV negative, I developed sore inguinal lymph nodes on the right side. They are between 1 and 1.5 cm large and I tried to treat them but with no result.What should I be asking my Dr. to do? Could this be related to previous sexual experience with a prostitute???

Lymph nodes in the inguinal area are very common it is highly unlikely that you have HIV disease. However, I would recommend you repeat HIV test just to be sure. Also, if you have visited a prostitute at least once there is risk of visiting them again which puts both you and your HIV-negative girlfriend at high risk. Even if you were lucky this time and did not got HIV, it is very unlikely that you will be so lucky each time.
