Hello! I have had a swollen inguinal node for a year now. It is very hard when I touch it, but it doesn’t hurt unless I press it real hard. I know that most of the lymph nodes appear when there is an infection but I couldn’t have an infection for a year, right? It doesn’t bother me with pain and I do wonder what it is doing down there swollen for such a long time.
Hi there! Your swollen inguinal node can be a lost hair under the skin. That happened to me, as I used to shave this area quite often. Once in a while a hair would stick down there causing me pain and this hard lump. Sometimes it would just stay there until provoked by something and then it would become large and sometimes I couldn’t even walk. So, I went to a dermatologist and she sent me to a surgeon. He did a small incision and took the hair out. Haven’t had any problems since.
