|
|
| My left labia minora has been swollen for more then twelve hours, about 3 times its normal size. This is embarrassing, but it's not painful unless there's pressure or my underwear causing friction. It's annoying. It became swollen last night after sex, there was a lot of friction but no lubricant. My friend told me to put ice on it, I did and the swelling is still there. I am just very concerned. Will the swelling go down? or what can I do to make the swelling go away the fastest? |

| i have kinda the same problem, I havent had sex in a year and my labias had swollen twice their sizes. I kept gettin in the tub and eventully the swelling went down. However, I recently had sex again but this time with a condom and ky jelly. With this, I have itchyness, redness, swelling, no discharge, it feels as though i want more sex but and i can take more pounding (excuse me, beside the point.) But when I scratch it feels a little reliefed but the goes to intense buring and itching, like someone keeps grapping at me. From my reading I learned that these symptoms are from either the of lubrications on the condom or the actually ky. From what I gather it is from the ky because of me being sensitve in that area. I really haven't found any solutions yet besides soaking, and to let you know monistat will not work because its not a yeast infection. |

| Girls, take an inventory of what you are consuming. I mean the type of foods, liquor, vitamins, drugs, cigarettes etc. If you are acidic you can have this problem. Some women have it all the time. It is called vulvodynia. Some only during sex b/c the natural vaginal juices are acidic. Let me know if any of you are interested in hearing what to eat and what not to eat. It takes a few minutes. I have this problem usually a day after sex, next time you should use more lube. Nothing is ever wrong with lube, when it doubt pour it on! Swelling for me is some times, well most of the time accompanied with itching. As for it to go down, make sure that u dont leave the ice on too long but yes ice compresses can help a lot. In fact I sew little pouches and put rice in them, then through it in the freezer and it works 10x better than an ice compress. And it can double as a heating pad since u can toss it in the microwave with no problems.
As for swelling in particular could just be irritation to cause them to swell.
There are several different problems stds and not that can cause the itch and all seem to be very unknown about many treatments. Yogurt ive heard can be helpful if u eat it daily as some of the bacteria is beneficial and similiar to what your vagina has as good bacteria go. I do not have any discharge problems either, i just try to shower often. The vagina DOES NOT require soaps!!! If the bacteria are the problem change your underwear often to avoid moisture in them and do not sleep with underwear on. I know it sounds weird but yes. To wash your vagina you just use plain water, as many vagina's are very sensitive to soaps because they can disrupt the normal bacteria.
Any questions should still be directed towards your doctor. But from hearing a lot of other ppl with the same swelling/itching problem - it can take awhile for the doctor to properly determine what the problem maybe. |

| I have found the solution to the problem...I recently had sex with my boyfriend, and afterwards had very swollen vaginal lips and minor pain. I just want to say that during sex i noticed i had become very dry, and it think by reading all of the blogs on the net about this issue, it is clear that if enough natural lub is not produced, get some from the store. I am very confident that this will solve this problem. |
