swollen throat and white puss

Hi, for the past three days or so i have had a swollen red throat with what looks like white puss on the back left side. This has also been accompanied by a headache behind my eyes. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is a virus or something that i should go get checked out?

I have the exact same problem, only w/o the pain behind the eyes. I called my dr today just in case b/c I really am not having any pain, and don't have a fever. He said that it's probably a virus. If my throat starts to hurt, or if I start running a fever to come in.
