I'm an addict too, but seriously, 100 a day is ridiculous ! Even for me !
You NEED to cut back because the liver can only handle 8 tablets a day. Did you even know that ? I'm scared of getting liver/kidney damage too, and you know what, it WILL happen to you eventually. Get some help before you die. Unless you wanna die like a junkie, cos that's what will happen. I know I cant talk, but 100 a day, thats outragerous. I dont even know how your body is handling that much without you being sick and vomiting. |

Posted: 08/12/08 - 03:24 Post subject: Codiene Withdrawl |
|
|
Hi all,
I just found this site and I am wondering if someone can help me.
I was taking about 6 tylenol # 3 (325 mg tylenol, 30 mg of codiene) a day for about 2 years. I stopped taking them about a month ago. The first couple days weren't bad....I wasn't throwing up or anything, just restless, and tired, some headaches. My panic attacks returned ( I was previously diagnosed). Now I am kind of shakey and get a few muscle twitches a day. Could this be from the withdrawl?? I read that sometimes it can take a few months to feel better, but I would love to know whether or not anyone has gone through this. I get myself all worked up over the shakes and twitches because I am only 24...will this go away??
Please help me.. |

| I want to stop using Tyl w/codeine! I'm up to 6 tabs a day. My problem is I have a back injury with a numb leg and hypersensitive foot. It drives me crazy! It has the same symptoms as a phantom limb with shooting pains, the feeling of ants running up my leg and spasms. What else can I take?! Lately I have had chest pains; test have shown no heart problems. Don't know what else is going on; assuming the chest pains is due to the codeine. Is that possible? What is there for me to take that will cover the pain? I take them before I go to bed and wake up at 3am with back pain. So of course I take more tabs to kill the pain. Labs are all good, I have them every three months and I go to the gym and work out with a personal trainer once a month. Thanks for any help. CJ |

in regards to the 100 a day problem with codeine addiction i have some info that might benefit you. Ive had sciatica for some time now and i developed a codeine addiction until my sciatica got so bad that i couldn't walk, the doctor prescribed me diclofenac with tramadol and taking that combination as prescribed i had no withdrawals from the codeine,i actually found myself not taking solpadol 30/500 anymore, my advice is to put your codeine in the bin and DO NOT take more tramadol than prescribed as they can be equally addictive, i hope tis helps, also at the start of that prescription i was prescribed 1 diazepam a night white ones, i think they were 2mg, after 2 weeks i had no adiction, its worth a try if you value your life then something has to be better than the situation that you are currently in, try holland and barrett and get vitamin b complex tablets 100mg, take 1 a day and you will feel better,if you get stomach cramps or stuff like that then get asodophylus from same shop. let me know how you get on. |

I've just stopped taking co-codamol-the 30/500 ones.
I've been off them for a week and a half now and i used to take 4 a day so small potatoes compared to some poor souls
throat is really sore, coughing my guts up like a 100 fag a day dot cotton, tired, depressed, lethargic
but benefits are feeling much more in control and much less hazy and vague
my question is does anyone know roughly how long i may feel this rough for?
thank you |

I've been addicted to codeine now for about a year. I don;t know if it's becoming a real problem? i take only 2-3 tablets a day (30/500), because i feel tired, have a headache or whatever but i can't stop having them. The main thing i worry about are the effects of the paracetamol as well as i drink about 5-6 beers everyday. I work 12hrs a day, 6 days a week so there is no way i can take time off work and i don;t have access to decent doctors. |
