taking percocet with oxycontin safe?

what's the difference between percocet and oxy contin 10 mg?

They are the same drug family. The percocet is probably 5 mg and is quick release. It has finished working in 3-5 hours depending on you. The Oxy is time release and continues to work up to 12 hours in some cases. I have been on 50 mg of oxy and 5 mg of perc 3 times a day for 4 years. (for chronic back pain.) the reason for the percocet is to get instant relief while the oxy has time to kick in.

I am fortunate that I can stick to that dosage without CHASING the high. I don't feel it anymore, but the pain goes away about 80%.
