im 13 and i already hit puberty
im only allowed to use pads whenever i have my period ( mom mom doesnt let me use tampons because she is worried ill break my seal - paranoid..tried to explain..didnt work )
since summer is coming and spring break is soon im probably going to want to go swiming...it would be really awkward telling my friends that i cant go swiming because i have my period.

so should i just go to the drugstore myself and get the tampons?
or should i just stick w. pads?

i remember last summer when i first got my period i couldnt go swiming because of my period....that was torture

and how do you insert a tampon
and which tampon would you recommend?...

Don't go behind mom's back and use tampons after she has already told you that you couldn"t. That makes for a bad trust thing between mom and daughter. Show her stuff from the internet. It's no big deal. And as far as you breaking your hymen, you can do that by riding a bicycle. Do you have girlfriends who use them? Maybe their mom's can get together with yours. They are safe if used properly. And you can swim in them. Who wants to swim with a big pad under a bathing suit. Yucky...
I don't see a problem, but i am not your mom either. Maybe she will consent to them only when you swim, and use a pad after that. That's not to bad. Some mom's are different, that is just her way. If she says no, and it's still no. Let it go. I just wouldn't sneak them. We mothers always find out. Twisted Evil Bring it up in a few months. Maybe she will change her mind as you get a little older. Smile
