HI, recently I was diagnosed with hepatitis C virus (HCV). How shall I tell my girlfriend and family this? I might have infected someone. What to do?

Hi, I know it’s a difficult task to announce, to be diagnosed with hepatitis C. But, you certainly have to share this information, because other people have right to know that they may be infected or are exposed to the infection. They may have influence on you how to cope with the disease and it’s complications. People to whom you must announce your diagnose are: people you have shared needles with to inject drugs, household members, or sex partner(s). Probably you’ll ask them to keep the information to themselves.
You should also inform people who take care of your health, because by the nature of the work they could get infected.
