My father who will be 87 in september has been told he has testical cancer
once it it removed, will he have to have radition or kemo therepy? At his age I am not sure he could make it through that. What are his options?
The prognosis (chance of recovery) and treatment options depend on the following:
1. Stage of the cancer (whether it is in or near the testicle or has spread to other places in the body, and blood levels of AFP, β-hCG, and LDH).
2. Type of cancer.
3. Size of the tumor.
4. Number and size of retroperitoneal lymph nodes.
