I don’t understand why cosmetic surgery is called plastic surgery. When it started? Who started? I found some name “Dr. John Peter Mettauer the colorful “it says that it is first American plastic surgeon. I don’t think that this will turn out good. First women and now men are become addicted on plastic surgery. No one looks natural anymore. We are good as we are. It is ok when someone is ill or had an accident …then I can understand but in other way is stupid to do it.

Oh, there are data in history from 4.000 years ago that people did some facial treatments…but who knows. It is called plastic because of the materials that have been used, different polymers of high molecular weight.
Anyway America’s first plastic surgeon of note was colorful Dr. John Peter Mettauer. He was from Virginia and he performed the first cleft palate operation in the New World in 1827. He designed instruments by himself.
