I am a true believer in this program. Both my husband & I have been on it since January of this year, and here are our stats:
Me- 5'8", Started at a size 18W, 272 lbs.
Scott- 5'10", Started at a size 38, 228 lbs.
NOW:
Me: Size 14, 221 lbs (YES!!!)
Scott: Size 33, 194 lbs
We did 6 weeks EXACTLY with the food, water, and him the exercise.
We do not COOK 5 times a day- we cook 1-2 times a week, portion it out, and have the food READY for us to put together & heat up.
We are both foodies, I abhor bland food. We have a full shelf & a half full of all kinds of nifty spices, and lots of Mrs. Dash! We eat chili, 'tacos', lettuce wraps, salad with 2-3 meals a day, shrimp, breakfast sausage, all kinds of fruit, and even dessert every night.
Many comment that the food is bland because there is no salt used. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes and lemon juice will make the best poaced shrimp you have ever had! You need to look at the recipes and experiment, to find the ones you like.
The best thing I found is this: you can tweak it to fit your life! I had a family issue, which caused me to be in & out of town every weekend for almost 2 months. I tried to stick close to the plan- but Turnpike Rest Areas don't have the greatest selections. So I ate close if possible, but then went back on later. I STILL LOST WEIGHT!!! We went on a week's vacation- did not eat on plan, drank the whole darn week, and came home 3 lbs lighter!! Once you rev your metabolism, it takes a bit to grind it to a halt.
Some say it limits vegetables & grains- well, I eat a salad with 3-4 meals a day. I can have a whole list of veggies with every meal if I like. I sometimes find I can't eat the rest of my sweet potatoes or butternut squash at dinner, because I'm full, from all the veggies!
One comment seems to be that the diet is low in certain nutrients- well, I
have 2 things to say about that!
#1- Michael Thurmand EXPRESSLY STATES that he recommends you take a high quality multi vitamin!!
#2- You can eat UNLIMITED amounts of a whole list of veggies- and on that list is almost EVERY color you could imagine (meaning, you can get most of you vitamins & minerals that you need from veggies from the FREE FOODS LIST!!)
I now HATE Chicken & Turkey too! (I never much liked either in the first place though!) However- I will be a size 12 (or dare I say 10!!) at my sisters wedding- I was a 16w at my own 4 years ago- so I'm pumped!
I could put so much more down, but I will leave it at this! Smile |

I bought the program 9/05 and I absolutely love it. I dropped weight quicky, I have tons of energy. To me, it wasn't hard at all. I think each person has to find what works for them, but this is definitely my key program to a slim, fit, healthy body. |

I was given this by a friend who did not commit to it. It was given to her by a freind who did not commit to it. I have had it for over 2 years and am now just starting it. I made a lot of excuses and am on board now.
I don't know if I am missing things or did not retain what I read.
Can somebody tell me about the free foods section for Body type A?
Can I stard using the marinades they suggest during the 6 day plan or do I have to wait until the 6 week plan starts?
I am eating chicken and Tilapia. It is hard for me to find Tuna reasonably priced. The canned tuna has sodium. Is this a problem?
Do I avoid all sodium, or is there a guideline? For example, mustard has 10 grams I think, of sodiium. Do I avoid that?
Can I eat popcorn as a snack if it is not popped in oil or tiopped with butter or salt?
Thankyou in advance,
Jason |

| My husband has been on the plan for 4 weeks now he lost weight from the first week. His pants are falling off without a belt. My husband was so big we had no weight measurement. I carefully prepare his food exactly in the manner in which it is descibed using alot of fresh seasonings and herbs. I measure out 3-4 oz. of food a cup of rice 4 oz. veg etc. He is full on the plan doesn't miss the salt, and has more energy. It works. P.S ALL HE HAS DONE IS EAT NO EXERCISE! this is not a lie. I hope that it works for others willing to make the commitment because it is a commitment to better eating and eating foods grouped diffrently. |
