Hello there! My grandma had a cataract surgery but now she is seeing a surgeon again for some secondary implant. Does anybody know what this secondary implant is? Thanks in advance!

Hi! It can happen that for some reason and implant was not used in the original surgery, then one can be placed years later. Because this is a secondary procedure, these implants are called secondary implants. Patients may be motivated to obtain secondary implants because of their dependence on their thick glasses or contact lenses.
