thorasic laminectomy

I would like to know what exactly thorasic laminectomy is. Thanks in advance!

This is a procedure (quite complicated surgery) that is done on spine or one of the parts of spine (for example discs). Thorasic means the access is to the spine is from thorax, which means, the big cut is made on persons thorax. Of course anesthesia is used. And Laminectomy is a procedure, where during disc surgery, access to the disc material is often gained by cutting into the lamina of the affected side. (laminas are two small plates of the bone which are converted in the back of the vertebrae).
