Yeah, I got the same fillings. It scares the hell out of me. I have had them for 3 years now. They come and go. One day here or one day gone. I keep thinking its throat cancer. Because I have a tightness around my neck near my adams apple, trouble swallowing, and feel like I got a pain in my throat. Not much pain. It just feels like when I get these symptoms, I have have a bad infection or something. Almost sick and sore. Oh and I understand the flutter through the neck. Feels like a weird muscle spasim. That is where I start panicing by the way. Though all this has went down I have not seen a doctor about it. I'm to afaid to here what has got to say!
I stopped dipping one and a half years ago. I keep thinking that was the cause. Oh, and not to mention the huge weed habit I use to have. I thought that also had a hand in to it. Or at least the reason why I was noid. Some people have told me though. They smoked it and had the same feeling. Turns out they had no symptoms before, but later became elergic to pot. Made them feel tight in throat, dry mouth, and sore in the neck. Not to mention they were high so they would start to panic and get worse. This gave me a reason to stop that to, but still I get that feeling sometimes...........I have no F--king clue what to do!

I too, have had these feelings. 2 years ago it started while at work (desk job) where i started with a very very mild headache....then my hands and feet started to get hot and sweaty. A few seconds later this "shock" ran through me for a few seconds....immeditiately afterwards my hands went very cold, I was a bit lightheaded and felt very weak. Also when this happened my hands appeared very pale, and like they were in water for a long time. My hearing was strange too....felt like i was outside of myself. I have to say the entire feeling was so freaky, I thought I was going to have a seizure or heart attack or stroke. On a few of these occasions I even smelt wierd things like a match being lit (thats why i thought seizure or epilipsy or something). That hasn't happened again thank god!
The flutter thing continued to happen intermittently for 2 years. I went to a neurologist, cardiologist, had an CT scan and nothing was found. I even wore a heart holster for 2 days! And then it just went away. It miraculously never happened again until last week.
Sitting at my daughters music recital...same thing...except this time i felt my face tighten up even more and felt weakness in my right arm... even my face felt a bit numb. This has been happening almost daily since but not as bad as the first reoccurence last week. I found a better term for the feeling -- FLUTTER -- thus found this thread where others had similar symptoms. Could this be hormonal?? If anyone else knows what might be going on with me, please post!

I too have the same symptoms as all of you. I always have this feeling like I can't take full breaths or yawn completely. I feel constand air hunger. These symptoms come and go in the last year and a half. I was put on Celexa and was given Xanax, which i hardly took. I stopped the Celexa in the last week of Sep 08 and in October I started having the same symptoms plus the throat flutter suddenly appeared 2-3 weeks ago. The throat flutters when I take very deep breaths and it is really bothersome as it makes me cough after. I though it was phlegm that's stuck in my chest so I tried coughing more and took cough medicine. Lately, I realized that it actually feels as if my epiglottis is rubbing again the back of the throat and triggers the cough reflex. I'm thinking about seeing an ENT.
I was given Lexapro in November, and I changed my thyroid meds from levoxyl to Armour. Boy, what a bad combo: I had killer headaches and stomach aches. The headaches kept me up all night and it was so intense that no amount of tylenol can cure the pain. I had to take Ambien to sleep. I stopped lexapro and armour after 3 days cause I don't know which is causing what; retook lexapro by itself and found that it was actually the lexapro that made me feel SO AWFUL. I felt my head is stuffed with I don't know what. Armour gives me a headache and stomach ache too but not as intense and after 2 weeks I think my body finally adjusted to it. I still get a dull headache later on in the day. I'm back to celexa 20 mg (half the pill) for 2 weeks now, but no relief yet. Anxiety and panic attacks suck! I'm a scuba diver and I can't enjoy it for this very reason.

It's nice to know that none of us are alone. I'm 38yr old and I have had panic attacks/anxiety disorder for 13 years. I take paxil and klonopine. Recently I had my gall bladder removed. Since the removal, I've still had the "flutter" in the center of my chest which scares the hell out of me. Occassionally I get pains in my left breast. My hubby (a nurse) thinks I've pulled some muscles and expieriencing some anxeity since the surgery. It wa so back the other night, I went to the ER where I had an EKG, Blood Tests & Chest E-ray. Everything came back normal, which made me crazy and relieved at the same time. With all the heart problems in my family, I've decided to go see a cardiologist just to make sure my heart is ok. I can deal with the anxiety if that is all it is. It's the unknowing that makes my mind run away and then I run for a klonopine. I will hopefully find an answer. Good luck to the rest of you in finding your answers.
I started having flutters in my throat in April. I tried going off Zyrtec which I have been taking for about 3 years for allergies. I thought that was the problem because I started back on Zyrtec and the flutters went away. It started again about 3 weeks before Christmas and then it seemed to cause chest flutters and it did scare me and concerned me. I had a really bad sinus infection and called my doctor and went to see him. I told him about the flutters and he had me to have some blood work and wanted me to see a cardiologist. I did both and when I went back to my doctor, he said that my thyroid was low and wanted to repeat the T4 before he prescribed meds. Also had a thyroid ultrasound, confirmed thyroid was low and started on synthroid. My tests were ok with cardiologist. I am still having flutters and it seems to be worse right after I eat. I have to go back for a repeat of the T4 blood test to see if adjustment needs to be made. I have had anxiety and panic attacks but that was several years ago. If the flutters would leave, I feel fine. It is very uncomfortable and I have had a couple of
RN friends tell me that they thyroid can cause a lot of different symptoms and until meds are adjusted it could be a while longer. I don't know, it still concerns me. And it is good to know that others know what I'm feeling. My sister thinks it could be nerves, but I have nothing to be nervous about and the doctor also put me on
Topral XL for blood pressure which I can't tell it's doing anything for me. I keep a watch on my blood pressure and at times I think it does more harm than good. I will be talking with my doctor again tomorrow about the blood pressure meds and also about the results from the cardiologist and see what he suggests from here. Thanks for listening to me. Hoping all are feeling better soon!

Hi
I have had the same thing happening (fluttering in chest & throat) for about a year off and on. I had no idea it was related to anxiety??? I am having the most calm and most happy and fulfilling life for the first time and I can't see how my symptoms could relate to anxiety? I thought maybe it was related to my food allergies because they started after I went off my exclusion diet, it took a while bt it started after that. I do remember in 2003 I woke up from sleep 2x with wot felt like a heart attack, I couldnt breathe and I had to leave my room to get my breath back it was freaky??? Is that anxiety? Also I feel like EATING to get rid of it, the fluttering I mean or drinking. In saying that I also find that when I'm cold & I shiver & the chest muscles contract it is very painful & the pain stays for about 30 minutes & it also happen when I lift something heavy or I use my chest muscles in a pushing motion, its very painful & I had to give up my job because of it. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hey Folks
I have suffered with anxiety and panic disorder since 1996. It took doctors two years and every single test they could run to tell me I was healthy, and should not be having any syptoms of anything. It took two sessions with a professional counselor to pinpoint the disorder that my medical doctors and at least 7 different nerve, heart, muscle and internal specialist could not. She called my Doctor, had me placed on 20mg of Paxil and within a week and a half, the panic attacks were gone. Well, around 2003, I weaned myself off of Paxil, and had no further attacks or symptoms of anxiety until 2008, when it resurfaced with a vengeance out of nowhere. 20mg wouldn't touch it, my doctor put me up to 40mg. Now, in the last few days, I have had the feeling of fluttering in my chest and the feeling of something stuck in my throat. I never had this before even in my most severe attacks. The fluttering happens randomly, but does occur often when I breath in deeply. After a trip to the ER, an EKG, bloodwork and being hooked to a monitor for a couple of hours...My blood pressure averaged 120 over 75, not bad for an overweight 40 year old guy that smokes and hardly excercises...Nothing wrong with the heart according to the ER personnel, and really no pain, exept for the now normal external muscle soreness in my chest and arms I always seem to have...Having read the posts here, it sounds like Anxiety again...It is a very odd beast, and has an amazing array of symptoms it can use against you, with no two cases being the same...Hang in there people..It is my intentions to beat it, I know you can too....

You may have an aneurysm. Get checked now!!!
I have all of the above symptoms, including the ear thing where my left ear feels like it isn't popped. pain, numbness, etc. They found a gas leak in my apartment yesterday that has been going on for who knows how long. We aired out the apartment, and I was starting to feel better, especially after long periods outside. This is the first time in weeks that I had felt like that. Then I went to sleep again last night. The same symptoms came back. I feel better if I get up and move around and eat something. The doctor thinks I just have an anxiety disorder, but I honestly think at this point it is something else (anxiety only as a result from feeling like this). Two people have told me the ear thing, but I don't think my doctor would even try that at this point. I am having a terrible time with doctors who just think its a head problem when they don't know what's going on. I had chronic illness a few years ago and was told by multiple doctors that it was a head problem, but then I found another doctor in another state. He said, try going off birth control pills. I was thinking, yea right, after all of this, all doctors have told me my problems can't be the birth control pills. I was desperate, so I did go off of them. Sure enough, I gradually started to get better over the next several months. I was furious that they doctors told me over and over that the pills couldn't be the problem. I don't want to wind up on meds only treating the symptoms of something else. Is there anything I can do on my own to treat this ear thing? My message to everyone too is TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCT ON THESE THINGS. I thought I was losing my mind, but then finally spoke up and said i smelled gas in my apartment. Understand that anxiety/stress can be the solution, but it may just be a result of feeling like crap for so long.
