I just had a total thyroidectomy on Thursday and started levothyroxine (.1mg) yesterday morning. My pulse has been very strong and I have been feeling very hot as well. I'm wondering if this is normal at the beginning of taking thyroid replacement hormone and if things should stablize after a few weeks.
Did anyone else experience anything like this after total thyroidectomy?

I had a Throdectomy in August. In september my doctor had me on Cytomel....I had the iodine radition treatment and went into full Hypothyroidits....in November i started with 100MCG and i could tell i was not getting better...Period came to early, my joints were hurting it was a struggle to get off of my couch or out of a chair. I would still fall asleep as if i had not gone to bed. I asked my doctor for something different or even to go back on the Cytomel because i felt good with that. She told me to start taking two tablets of 100mcg or 0.1mg og Levothroid and that did not work. I once again asked to go back on the Cytomel. She upped my perscription to 125MCG or 0.125MG and instead of taking one i take two and oh my goodness how much better i feel...... I am taking two 125mcg of Levothroid and i have never felt better. I can remember prior to my surgery i had a very bad case of fatigue. My joints hurt all the time and when it was cold i could feel the cold all the way down to my bones. This works for me....
