Hi, is it common to have tics as side effect of some stimulant drugs? My son was prescribed Concerta, but I believe that his tics have aggravated since then. Should he take lower dosage?

Hi, certainly side effects should not overgrow the benefits that are
brought by the medicine. By using Concerta, common side effects
include headache, upper respiratory tract infection, stomach ache,
vomiting. Even loss of appetite can be seen. In some cases
sleeplessness has been reported. If a child suffers from any
respiratory disorder it may have increased cough, sore throat,
sinusitis. It can also feel a little dizzy. Concerta should not be used if any tics are present. So, stop using it, and ask your doctor to
change a therapy, because tics are contraindication for taking
Concerta
