tingling and pain in the right arm while working out on a treadmill

while i use the treadmill after approx 10 min after I start walking I feel a tingling sensation and slight pain in my right arm it stops after few minutes of geting off the treadmill what is the reason Pls advise

I am an exercise physiologist at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Tx. I have heard this before from some patients of mine. Typically what this is, assuming its not cardiac in nature, is either poor circulation or a pinched nerve. You should have an EKG to rule out heart disease and make sure this arm pain and tingling is not accompanied with chest pain or dizziness. Assuming its not cardiace in nature, make sure bra straps or any other clothing is not too tight and that proper blood flow is getting to the arm. Also try warming up the shoulders and arms by some active movement prior to getting on the treadmill, this will lossen the ligaments and tendons that could be responsible for a nerve impingement. Consult a physician if the pain persists, hope this helps.
