I haven't had a breakout of tiny clear bumps in about 2 years. When I researched this a couple of years ago I came up with this answer. Pomphoyx, its a type of eczema. I'm not sure if that's exactly what it is, but it seemed to fit my situation.

Well now this past couple of weeks hubby and I have a single bump. which looks like a blister and is clear liquid filled with a core and super itchy. Maybe the size of a dried split pea? When popped and squeezed out, it fills right back up! I finally popped mine and scrubed it out with Alcohol and a gauze pad Twisted Evil ( ouch!!, but it was on my index finger and ugly.). Now mine is dried up, with a scab. Hubby's is still with him. I named it Herman. Do we have warts?

I noticed I had the same things as you guys tonight while typing an email to my friend. And this isn't for the first time too.. mostly its on my right index and something middle finger.

Being a self conscience teenager, I tried many times to get rid of it.

As usual, I kept scratching it until it hurts so badly i put a band-aid on it Mad but then finally i asked my mom who said she has the same things. I read somewhere this is genetic (is it?) so right now (from her advice) I just applied some "Fungi Cure" (that's actually the name brand by the way) on my right hand middle finger.

According to my mom, It'll disappear overnight. Assuming you all have the same problem as me, it should disappear or get rid of the old skin without any scars or marks. Very Happy Hope this helps!

PS: I'll post back tomorrow and see if it worked.. wish me luck! Wink If it does work and you guys have any questions about the product, I'll try to type out as much as I can.

Oh just to be sure.. they're like skin-coloured tiny clusters of bumps located usually on the upper part of your finger beneath the nail area.. well that's my case anyways. i got a little on my big toe too and when I scratched, some clear fluid came out.

Hello, I have similar condition on my right hand's middle finger and my left hand's thumb. It started in March 2007 with very very dry skin, no bumps or blisters. Later, even after extensive amounts of daily applications of lotion, it cracked and I had small wounds. After that healed, a couple weeks later, little blisters started forming around the area where clear liquid (puss) would come out if popped. I was later told by some people it might have to do with the Season or stress. No one else in my family has this condition. It doesn't itch, it doesn't burn or hurt. It just bothersome to look at. I tried anti-fungal creams for athlete's foot but it didn't work. So I consulted my doctor and she told me I have eczema so she prescribed me Betamethasone Dipropionate. After only 4 days of constant application, I'm starting to see a difference. Hopefully this helps.

Ok, I have just read all the replies in this thread and wanted to add my story...

2 weeks ago these things started Mad

I noticed the little clear bumps on my fingers, and a few on my palms.
Some look like they have a dark dot in the center. I pop them and clear liquid comes out, then they fill up again, I pop them, and then they go away, the top skin peals off and leaves my skin looking like it's pealed from sunburn, and it feels rough...

These things ITCH bad, especially at night Crying or Very sad

I used peroxide on them one day and they bubbled forever, like they were infected...

Can someone just get eczema??? after years with none??? Question

This really freaks me out, especially after I see so many cases in the past few months.... Shocked

Same case here. Tiny bumps on my finger joints that pop up occasionally; mine actually itch sometimes; when I try to pop them, it is relatively tough to do and painful, but they otherwise do not bother me....Was wondering, does anyone else also have pain in their hands occasionally? Like arthritis pain? Or in other joints? Rashes elsewhere on the body? Low grade fever? Fatigue?

My theory is that the bumps are a symptom of an immunological disorder... I have been diagnosed as a borderline SLE case (Lupus is hard to diagnose - after having seen a number of rheumatologists it was not clear whether my test results really constitute a clear-cut Lupus case, but the level of my ANAs seem to point in that direction). Anyway, the point is...

Your immune system, instead of defending the body from disease, can attack healthy tissue - your bones, your nervous system, and your skin...
It can be triggered to do so by high levels of stress and, in cases if people with Lupus, also by UV light. Irritants can be many, but this is the case for me - I get these bumps more in summer and when I am very stressed... My finger joints hurt occasionally and they develop these bumps...

My advice: when you get a flare of these bumps, skip the dermatologists and get yourself screened for an immune disorder. You can start by taking a test at your GP for Anti Nuclear Antibodies to verify their levels. Once you have ruled out an immunological reaction, you can seek dermatological explanations for the symptom.

Wow! I cant believe so many people are going through the same thing I am! Let me describe a little about my situation:

I've never had any skin issues. I do have VERY fair fair skin. I also do believe I may sweat a bit more then the average person.
The very first time I got the little bumps and major itching were right after I had my first son. He was about 3 months old and then these bumps appeared. At that time I WAS going through much much stress. They started on one finger on my right hand and gradually each finger on my right hand (all 5) had them. Then about a year later... they appeared on my RING finger of my left hand. Thats it. I did have a 2nd child 18mths after my first, then also went through a seperation, crappy marriage stuff.. so I was more stressed in my life then I'd ever been. (especially with 2 new little ones) So I'm wondering if the stress part is a huge factor? I do go through spurts where they pop up all over the fingers around the same time, but my Dermatolgist prescribed me this miracle cream. It has helped WONDERS! My reg. family doctor had NO clue how to help me. He tried prescribing regular lotrison or some basic cream. It didnt do one single thing. My fingers were to the point that they had so many itchy bumps that I felt I couldnt bend them. Then after finding this great dermatologist.. it has totally controlled this issue for me. What I do is put a good amount of cream ALL over my right hand fingers and some on the one finger on my left. (Before I do this I prepare a some damp paper towels). So after the cream is on.. I Lightly wrap the damp paper towels around my hand. I was told that this will help the medication absorb faster and more efficient. Which it definitly does. So I do this one in the morning and once at night... then my issue clears up almost instantly and I'm good for about 2-3 weeks straight with no worries. When they start coming back... they hurt even when I run water over my hands or touch ANY kind of soap or lotions or foods. So I do my medication..and I'm ok. I can touch water and soap and foods..and my hands are fine. (only after the medication) I do wish there was a pill that could give the same affect since I have 2 little boys and its hard to do the cream sometimes. But I'll do whatever I have to to get relief! Mine was so bad in the beginning before I knew what it was that my mom had to give me newborn at the time and little toddler bathes for me.. had to help change diapers that needed wipes because I couldnt touch any of these things. So if anyone thinks they need a cream medication, I suggest asking your doctor about (Fluocinonide Cream USP, 0.05%) that is what the box says of the cream I use. I really do hope this helps others. Its the ONLY thing that has given me relief. Its not a cure because it does come back. BUT, I was told to put this cream on every single day twice daily, but I dont do that. If I did, it may really help and the bumps may stay at bay. But Its hard for me to do it twice a day. So just doing it for one day 2 times.. for me personally it lasts about 2-3 weeks before I need to put it on again. Sorry that this post has gotten so long. I Just really hope to help anyone else out there.

PostPosted: 09/05/07 - 21:40    Post subject: REMEDY-Form of Eczema - tiny puss-filled spots that itch - h Vote now! Reply with quote

I have had the same thing - tiny blister like bumps, they itch and spread. I started to notice the bumps on my toes, around the nail in 2000. I'd never had anything like it before, but it seemed if I popped them or itched them they spread. They also increase in size when itched. If you pop them, they generally refill and seem to itch more. I didn't have them constantly, but they acted up from time to time. In 2003 I started getting them on my fingers...it's progressed from there Evil or Very Mad

Years ago I started noticing a pattern, the more stressed I got the worse they became and the more they spread. I have been able to identify that when my stress level becomes out of control they appear within hours. They always re-occur in the same areas, and as they spread, the new areas they appear become regular spots. Over the past 8 months I've gone through he11 at work, and they are now all over me. I have them on my face Embarassed legs, chest, upper arms, wrist area, knuckles, toes (as before) and hands (now not only fingers, but palms as well). I've also been able to identify I had this same problem in high school. I saw dozens of dermitologists (my parents tried every dr. they could find) my face was covered with these bumps that itched and were also extremely painful at times, they'd even break open and be open sores for days, and once they'd stop itching and pussing the scab would weeks to heal (I had acne on top of it all, and I could definitely tell a difference between acne spots and the other - even several dr.'s agreed it wasn't acne, but none of them could perscribe anything that even remotely helped), leaving a dark scar (thankfully, my skin doesn't get pot-marks), I also had the same thing on my thighs and upper arms. Talk about awful! Well with the amount of stress I've been under lately, the same thing has started again. At 27 the last thing I want to deal with is spots worse than acne! Crying or Very sad

TREATMENT: What I've found lately, depending on the severity -doesn't heal it completely, but has become my favorite product ever...VICKS VAPOR RUB...<3 <3...can I say it again, Vicks Vapor Rub...music to my ears! I can't describe how much this has helped me...I should have taken before and after photos! I'm not completely healed, it doesn't prevent it, but immediately when it starts to appear or I have a patch of itchy skin I reach for the Vicks (which is never far from hand - never owned a bottle, now I have 4!) I've found with the more mild cases (new bumps/tiny and not overly bothersome) a thin layer generally clears it up overnight. For the more extreme cases, like the open sores on my face, I found it heals them up in approximately a week - but during that time I have to do everything possible to keep applying, and avoid breaking open the skin (on my face the skin becomes extremely soft - maybe because the fluid seems to constantly flow, and the skin will rub right off if I gently touch it - I have to be very careful not to ever touch the area [no matter how itcy it becomes!] or it will take ages to clear up entirely) I had 3 horrible spots in a cluster on my jaw line, they would scab up and the next day they'd be an open wound again with seemingly never-ending puss...this occurred for a month+...I was going insane. That's when my mom said she'd heard that Vicks can clear up toenail fungus...Why not, I've got nothing to loose at this point, I don't have my dignity anymore...I was at the end of my rope and willing to put absolutely anything on it! Immediately I started to see slight changes and the other parts of my body where it wasn't so serious really started to heal-up. I was persistant and after a week or so, the cluster on my face (among the others) started to show significant improvement. After a week they were in healing mode and it still took about a week for it to become only a scar, but in 2 weeks the wounds that were open sores on my face for a month+ were healed. I also had a patch on the palm of my hand that had been there constantly for 2+ months and it also healed. The skin on my palm is obviously much tougher than my face, so obviously my face was much more difficult to heal up than my palm. It doesn't prevent the flairups, but it definitely clears them up quickly if I catch them early. I keep an emergency supply of Vicks in my desk at work, in my car, and at my boyfriend's house. I have a permenant spot on the bathroom counter for a large bottle - next to a supply of Q-tips...use a fresh Q-tip each time you apply (no one in my family or boyfriends have ever had these spots [which I do believe are a form of eczema], so I don't think they are contageous but I'm still not positive whether or not it can be spread to other areas of your body). I apply to any new spots that show up ANYWHERE, and to any areas of my skin that seem to itch (I feel like the dad from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"...Windex!) but honestly, it has worked wonders for me. I generally apply in the morning and evening. I apply a thin coat in the morning while I'm getting ready, and just before I apply make-up, I rub it in completely. At night I apply a thin coating and leave it (I sleep on my stomach so it becomes tricky to avoid getting it all over my pillow!) I don't cover them with anything...it seems to do the trick. - word of warning, it can leave oil-like marks on fabric, even after washing. I've also found I really need to control my stress levels - which is easier said than done! I avoid itching or touching any spots on my skin and apply the vicks IMMEDIATELY...it's changed my life. Even my co-workers have started trying it on blemishes...they are believers now too. LOL

I also appreciate the posting about Lupus...I'm going to look into that next! THANKS OMEGA! Mine is stress related; however, I've found that when I'm in the sun it generally helps clear it up - but maybe that's because I'm only ever in the sun when I'm on vacation...obviously my stress level decreases at those times!

I don't like lotions, it sometimes made the healing process more difficult. I've also found that using products to dry out the spot, generally only caused a scab and puss build up underneath that becomes painful, and once it surfaced it was generally the watery puss mixed with blood...then it would start cycle over again - at least that's what happens for me. Once it's only a scab, the alcohol or whatever you might use to dry it up, can help somewhat, but initially I've found it makes mine worse.

I hope Vicks works for all of you - I understand what you're going through, I've dealt with this for years now, and it's awful and embarrassing Embarassed Crying or Very sad ...if I find anything else to be helpful, I will be sure to post again.

Hope this helps...can't hurt to try, right?

It is somewhat comforting to know that so many people suffer from this & have also had little success diagnosing the problem.

I've had these blisters/bumps on my fingers for years now - they come and go.
I read that they happen to people around the age of 20 to 40, however I am 16 and first noticed the bumps when I was 13.
It started again recently and now the skin in my fingers became very dry and is starting to peel. Some people have mentioned it is contagious, but I've only had the blisters at the tips and sides of my fingers & no one else I ever have contact with has ever experienced this.

I've been looking at websites about eczema, but the photos depicting the blisters seem so severe compared to what I have...

It took a while to get diagnosed properly, howeva, it is a stress related eczema, if left it will spread to ur hands then feet chest then groin. At this point it was so itchy that i wasn sleepin and managed to get a blood infection. I was rushed to hospital and put on antibiotics strong enough for meningitis. C a doc, b persistent! As soon as a single blister forms i get a strong steroid cream. Dont b alarmed and yes it can start at wateva age! Once recognised it not as traumatic as people are makin out!
