I figure its normal exploration of her body found a new hole sort of thing. But I cant find anywhere on the net that "masterbation" as most sites put it discribe it as inserting her finger into the vagina. I dont know what to tell my friend cause I cant find it through google, baby center, nothing...Im tired of reading so I thought Id give this a try and hopefully have a responce asap and be able to talk to her tonight and say "its absolutely normal" But I cant say that right now cause I cant find it anywhere so I thought I would post this and maybe someone out there trying to find out if their toddler is normal or not because they do this not to mention rule out sexual abuse...this is to help me and everyone out there.
Thanks for any responces
Sincerely

Hey!
Being a trainee childrens nurse, we get taught about the the stages in a childs development. From the age 0 - 5 years this is considered the time where a child explores their body. It is well documented that during puberty and onwards people learn about masturbation etc. But does anyone actually realise while the child puts their finger in their belly button , hold their foot, touches their penis/ vagina etc that they are exploring their body, just like adults explore themselves sexually. This is one the ways they imterpret the difference between little boys and little girls. This is a totally normal development in a childrens wellbeing.
In short: no need to worry!

Thats not true.
Id have her checked for signs of abuse and or hymen rupture.
Its not visible the way a belly button is and therfore not something they would just see and be curious about! 0-5.... your giving incorrect information for the topic. This sounds more congnitive and thats odd in relation to her age. <unless taught or an act of mimicking> its quite unusual. Either way, it should be addressed.
So, concerned friend..... I think thats why you are having trouble finding information on this is bc it is not a 'o, theres another belly button' type of thing.
Good luck!! |
