I was told that I need my tonsils removed. Unfortunately, I was so sick at the time that I didn't even ask the doctor any questions. I'm wondering how this procedures usually goes for older adults (over 55). Is it an outpatient procedure or does it require hospitalization? How long can I expect to be off work?

Thanks for your answers and expert advice. I'm very worried about this procedure!
