I got my tonsils out 6 weeks ago I am 32 what should my throat look like It is still quite red and raw and a little sore when I stick my tongue out I see small red lumps on root of tongue and where tonsils used to be Is this normal?????

Very Happy Hi, you are doing well as far as I can see. If anyone told you that you would be fine quickly they are kidding you. Just make sure you drink lots of water, to keep hydrated, also cool things might be nice. It might be a mth or so further that you still feel the effects of the surgery. After you are healed you will feel much better. Do take care and if swelling or reddness worsens or pain worsens phone dr right away, you don't want to take a chance of infection and infection can start up anytime. Do take care and know you are well on the way to healing. Smile Peggy
