I am 41 years old and for the past 2 years it seems that every month I get more heavy periods and sometimes it can be as many as 3 periods a month. I have a very foul smelling discharge before my periods that even seem to stain my underwear, if I have black panties on it seems like they get bleach on the spot of the discharge,and also have noticed that I have cramps that will keep me in bed for a couple of days. My periods are so heavy that I have to change my tampons every 45 minutes on 2 out of the 5 days that I am on my period, this even happens at night that I can hardley even stand up and make it to the bathroom from my bed before having an accident. I have been to several doctors who say that I need to be on birth control pills to regulate my periods, this works for a few months and then I am back to the same thing again. Please help me, am I just getting old?
