Hemophilia is a very rare disease and it is hereditary. It is characterized by impairment of body's ability to control bleeding. The blood of a person who suffers from hemophilia does not clot normally. They bleed for longer time than other people. It is genetic deficiencies that cause lowered plasma clotting factor. There are a couple of forms of hemophilia. The most common are Haemophilia A - factor VIII deficiency and Haemophilia B - factor IX deficiency. There is no cure for haemophilia, but it can be controlled with regular injections of the deficient clotting factor.
