My Dad has congenital heart disease and is on oxygen. Lately, he has been loudly belching about every 10 minutes or whenever he moves. He's 89 and for the past two weeks has not been able to walk very far without losing his breath. The belching has gotten worse - very loud! Is this because of his heart? Some days he eats very little.

My mother keeps saying it's indegestion, but I think it's lack of oxygen.

Thanks for responding.

What is his congenital heart disease condition? Is he bedridden? If he ambulates less frequently, there is a slowing of his peristalsis. the intestines slowly moves causing trapping of the air that's why your father belches every time he moves. Some days he eats very little because maybe he feels pain due to the air being trapped in his stomach and intestines.
