My wife gave birth three days ago and my new son and my wife are both still in hospital. My son was born with Ectropion, a condition where the lower eyelid is more or less turned inside out. Please tell me more about how to handle this when we get home. Is there an infection risk? Thank you for your help! A new baby is always exciting but this makes it that much more stressful!

Congratulations on your new baby! Ectropion is not a condition that will go away on its own over time, and your new son will require surgery to solve the problems. In the meantime, before that happens, your doctor will explain to you how you need to care for your son's eyelid. I think infection risk is very slim, provided that you take proper care of the area.
