Recent study found that eating fruits is of great importance for skin condition and digestive system but it also can protect people from developing Alzheimer’s disease.

During the study, researchers examined benefits of apples, bananas and oranges and results showed that these fruits can protect people from neurodegenerative disease including Alzheimer’s disease. Experts say that these fruits are very common ingredients in Asian and also in Western diets. They also say that these fruits are great sources of vitamins, minerals and fiber.

During the research scientists tried to find effects of apples, bananas and oranges on neuron cells and they discovered that phenolic phytochemicals from the fruits were able to prevent neurotoxicity of the cells. Researchers found that apples had the highest content of protective antioxidants and then bananas and oranges.

This study demonstrated that antioxidants in fresh fruit can protect neuronal cells from oxidative stress and people who consume these fruits can improve effects in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
