Hello there! Your question is a bit confusing, since toxemia is a condition that women may experience in pregnancy and if understood in that way, it does not exist in men.
However, if you think of toxemia as a condition in which toxins move into the bloodstream, that is completely different story. In this case, it would be blood poisoning.
This blood poisoning refers to presence of bacteria in the blood. Toxemia considered this way occurs when there are many bacteria in the blood stream and are spreading way too fast. These bacteria can release their toxins and attack body tissues. Once they managed to get into the blood stream, it could be difficult to get rid of them and prevent them from attacking body’s organs.
Some of the most common symptoms of “blood poisoning” are fever, chills, shivering, delirium, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, paleness, clumsiness, rapid breathing, headache, low blood pressure, being cold, etc
This condition occurs when bacteria manages to escape from infection into the blood stream and release its toxins. Our immune system usually releases its anti-toxins in an effort to defend us from the toxins. When the person experiences fever and chills, it is our body trying to combat the toxins and bring the poisoning under control.
If a person experiences such symptoms, they should be taken to hospital right away. The symptoms are good indicators that blood poisoning could have occurred and blood tests should be run in order to check for the bacterial presence in the bloodstream.
This kind of blood poising is very serious and can be fatal if not treated instantly. The treatment involved taking antibiotics according to the bacteria found to be present in the body.
There is no difference between males and females in this kind of toxemia. |
